CBC took us quite a long time to finish shooting. They kept waiting for a good issue/ event to occur. And their patience recieved a good reward. A young man spitted on the road and wasn't willing to swap it, while we were trying to convince him that it was not correct, a passer-by couldn't stand it and said, "Give me the tissue, I'll swap it for him." And she later joined us in convincing him into admit his fault.
NBC took it a lot easier, we did our thing and they follow us. But they design some situations and scenes as well. I don't think they're taking the same strategy as CBC. But they look a lot more professional. They have a producer, a girl for translating, a man for interviewing and two for sound-recording and filming. They even had a small interview with me and another volunteer, pretty exciting. The video will be aired in the TV show "Today." I think it's pretty famous around, for even though we don't watch NBC in Taiwan, I heard of that show before.
This trip to Beijing made me realized the importance of language ability and I do benefit from it so far. Hope Zhang could insist on English studying even after I leave here. Then this could be a small positive impact I made during the internship. :)
